My Students
My students come from diverse home lives, but in our classroom, we are all family. I have 55 students. 15 are ELLs and 9 have special needs. My kiddos have dreams of being doctors, lawyers, teachers, vets, principals, and dancers. It is my job to help them realize their dreams are attainable.
I love that they are open minded and willing to try new things.
I always tell my students that all things are possible through hard work and the will to try.
My Project
Reading opens a whole new world for students.
It takes you on adventures to places you have never been.
Encouraging my students to read for enjoyment is a personal goal I have every year. Having a variety of books for students to choose from will give them the opportunity to increase their love for reading. Everyday we have time set aside where students "Read to Self." This is a time when students get to self-select the books they read. During this time, I hold one-on-one reading conferences to assist students in strengthening comprehension, building vocabulary, and increasing reading stamina and fluency.
