This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
W EC Programs is where academic education starts for a lot children with disabilities. Our students can vary from ages 3-5 in our preschool program for children with disabilities (PPCD).
Being disabled in no way, shape or form stops our children from having an education and love of learning.
It is truly spectacular to see the individual growth in each student from day to day. Every child is different, we love to have our students engage and be excited for education!!
My Project
Developing gross and fine motors skills can be a challenge to special needs students. We use a variety of materials to help or students to develop and practice these skills. Using LEGOs is a great way to have our students develop motor skills. When they think is "play time" students are able to use their imagination while developing skills.
The mat is a great piece that enhances the safe, calming environment we teachers strive for as well as an interactive place to convene when we have carpet time, center time, circle time and rest time on our day to day schedule.
