My Students

The kids I teach are avid learners. They like to create and learn new things. They are beginning to read and write. I want to use whiteboards to help them learn to form the letters correctly so they will be ready for first grade.

In Kindergarten, we learn the letters and the sounds and how to put them together.

We also are learning site words and numbers. This is an important part of kindergarten. Mastery of the alphabet is essential for future learning.

My Project

I would love to use whiteboards as a daily activity in my classroom during the English Language Arts time frame of our day. My students will be able to use whiteboards with their teacher and peers. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing. Also, students will be able to have plenty of practice with their fine motor skills and will be able to correct their mistakes easily. Using whiteboards help keep my Kindergarten students more engaged in what they are learning.My students will be able to practice correct letter formation as well as write sight words and simple CVC words. They love hands-on activities more than using paper and pencil. Let's save the trees! GO GREEN AND USE MORE WHITEBOARDS!
