"We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive."-Albert Einstein. Students of today are interested in sustaining the earth by going green. To do this, education has to begin storing textbooks on electronic devises, where waste and pollution is minimized.
The students I teach, live in an urban neighborhood, where they attend their zoned school.
These students come to school with a positive attitude toward learning and assisted us in achieving the nurturing family environment that exists at my school. My school recently had a change from one whole unit into eight smaller learning communities that meet the educational and social aspects of my students by requiring them to select a family (community) that would contain their specific interests. This changed the relationship among staff and students, and brought pride to teaching, where teachers want the best education possible.
My Project
By having the Samsung Galaxy tablet, my students and I will be able to access the textbook and the many resources that are available from the publishing company. Some of these resources include video lessons(that can help the struggling student), extra multiply choice questions (to help students achieve a deep understanding), and a set of advanced activities(to challenge the student who is excelling). This technology will allow my students to achieve success now and in the future.
Supporting my project will not only enhance the students mathematics instruction, but will educate the students on sustaining the earth by using an electronic textbook.
Therefore, by using/having this tablet, the broad impact will go behind the educational institute and live on throughout the students lives now and in the future, where they can educate others and think twice before polluting the earth.
