Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My scholars love to learn every day they come to school. They enjoy movement and hands-on activities. I work in an all-girls school that is an open-enrollment campus with scholars coming from across the city. We use a 50/50 socioeconomic diversity model to ensure that 50 percent of student enrollment is made up of economically disadvantaged scholars, and the other 50 percent is composed of non-economically disadvantaged scholars.
We are proud to be an inclusive school community empowering girls to live and lead with confidence and purpose.
My scholars are some of the most hilarious, forgiving, and inquisitive children I have been around. Every day is a new adventure with them and you never know what the day is going to be like.
My Project
My scholars are always working hard in class to do their best. I want to reward them by having a day to transform my class into a glow party. With a black light, glow sticks, and even highlighters, scholars have the tools necessary to complete the room transformation.
Making a classroom engaging helps scholars to make more of a real connection to what they are learning.
I want my scholars to enjoy writing and learning. Having these tools will help create a day that my scholars will never forget. I will use the table cloths to blackout my room and scholars will use the highlighters to write.
