My students are amazing, bright high school students in a special education classroom within a general education setting. My students have varying interests and educational goals.
Their school experience has been drastically altered by the restrictions created to mitigate the spread of Covid 19.
Our classroom staff is dedicated to finding and creating activities that will help our students participate online and stay engaged in the classroom.
My Project
We are exploring new ways to engage our students in developing the skills needed to find gainful employment after graduation. The effects of the pandemic have presented new challenges for our students and created the need for innovative ideas and strategies to educate them. Our project will provide us with materials that will emulate assembly and production processes used in the workplace.
The headphones will allow all of our students, including those with sensory processing issues, access to individual computer programs in the class room simultaneously.
We will use many of the materials to create skill-training exercises and will use the money kits to work on developing puchasing and change making skills.
