This year, I have a wide range of students. Most of my students are Native American, some that are eager to learn, others will need that extra push to succeed. The children seem to work really well together and encourage each other.
I believe that all students can and will learn.
They just need to be nurtured and encouraged to succeed. Some just need to know that they are loved and can achieve their goals as long as they don't quit and never give up.
My Project
My students need the markers and colored pencils so they can rainbow write their Spelling words or while completing a Spelling scribble. We also use them during math when working out addition and subtraction problems. Students write the addends in one color, the signs in another, and then the answer in a different color to help differentiate each step of the problem. We use the dry-erase markers on our white-board table and our dry-erase write-on sleeves.
Using colored words, students are able to identify words or numbers that wouldn't necessarily stand out to them and are more appealing to their senses.
My students will use the manila envelopes to keep up with their sight words and other flash cards they use, whether it be for reading, spelling, or math. These supplies will help us finish out the school year.
