Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at an amazing school where almost all of my inner city students are from low income backgrounds. They are a mixture of Hispanic and African American students. The student population is also comprised largely of English Language Learners and students with special needs. As teachers, we do everything in our power to make sure students have all of the necessary materials to be successful. Our students and parents are always grateful that we find ways to supply our students with learning tools to make their school year successful.
My Project
We need stick it notes, highlighters, erasable markers, pencil pouches pencils, pens, a printer with color ink, and a sturdy classroom sharpener. We will use the sticky notes, highlighters, and erasable pens to help improve our drafts for writing. We will use the printer and colored ink cartridges to print our young author’s books. The class sharpener, and pencils will help us better prepare in the morning for Math. Students will use Expo markers on our white boards to show the teacher what they have learned.
The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the amount of interruptions, and give students on a chance to focus on what's important-learning!
Students are constantly borrowing or sharing supplies. Unfortunately, not every parent is able to purchase supplies due financial circumstances. We want students to not ever worry about having school supplies for the day but instead focus on education. I want to begin the school year with all the supplies we usually don’t have. Please help us get this school year rolling the right way!
