Help me give my students the tools they need to be creative in demonstrating and presenting the content of what they have learned, including an electric pencil sharpener, scissors, colored paper, and more.
Our school is within a small district and limited in resources for our students and classrooms. In the program that I teach, it is a self-contained classroom for students with special needs that require a special program to be able to meet their educational, social, and emotional needs.
With the needs of the students in this program, it requires to "think out of the box" and meet the students where they are to be able to best serve them.
The students with special needs education will look different than their typical peers. Many of the students need help in many different ways, such as with social skills, life skills, behavior management, and emotional regulations. In our program, teaching is done creatively and uses a multi-sensory approach in learning.
My Project
These materials will help make a difference in my students' learning both in the classroom and through distant learning at home. Students can be creative in demonstrating what they are learning and what they have learned.
Through a multi-sensory approach in teaching, my students will not be limited in their learning using just paper and pencils or computer programs to do their work.
They will be able to be creative in demonstrating key concepts they are learning. Also, it will allow them to use the materials to present and teach their peers in a creative way.
