Help me give my students technology devices in the classroom to utilize when writing, keeping track of time, staying focused, and keeping work protected.
This project serves to solve a lot of everyday problems.
The four main things of this project include an Alexa device, a printer, a laminator, and a classroom doorbell.
My students are constantly leaving the classroom for different things- speech, OT, inhaler before recess or gym, early dismissals, and more. It is very hard for me to keep track of everything as it changes day to day. An Alexa device would help the whole class as we could set alarms for lunch, recess, specials time, and other events throughout the week so we do not show up late. The doorbell helps us in two ways- one to let us know someone is at the door (a lot of times other students knock very, very quietly) as well as I use it as an attention grabber to help my students stay focused. The printer would be a HUGE help as I usually have at least a 3 minute walk to the copy machine (which is usually broke) and then another 3 minutes back to the room (sometimes just for one copy). When you only have a 20 minute break- every minute counts and a printer in the room would help so much! My students would also love to print their writing that they type in Google Classroom. It would be awesome for them to have access to a printer as they are not allowed to print from the school ones. Finally, a laminator would be amazing to keep their work, our class signs, and posters in good shape to use year to year.
