Most of the children in our Pre-K class are not native English speakers. We have children who have not been exposed to educationally rich environments or who spend a majority of their time with their non-English grandparents or babysitters while their parents are at work.
We strive to provide meaningful experiences that will enhance, extend, and promote an educationally rich environment for our children on a daily basis.
We find that we are in need of more materials than our budget allows due to materials being used, worn, lost, or broken by children. We love our children. In keeping with the early childhood education guidelines of ECERS, we respectfully put forth the following list of needed items. We are asking for one larger laptop to work together with children alongside the teacher. Since most of our children are not native English speakers they will not understand what to do.
We would like this laptop to work side by side with children with an interactive touch screen so that we can show children how to use various applications.
In teaching them how to use the applications they will find success and self confidence while increasing their knowledge and skills. This will be used during center time and be rotated among children so that everyone gets an opportunity to learn.
