This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school and resources are very limited, especially when it comes to resources. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
My students face many challenges so I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I work hard to meet the needs of every student in my class regardless of what level they are on. Whether it is a child working below level or a child that above level, each child would benefit greatly to have fun, new experiences to enhance their love for learning.
My Project
We lost eight days of school due to the Hurricane. Most of my students were affected by not only the damage to their homes but also the damage to our school. Outdoor recess and PE classes had to be held indoors for well over a month due to hurricane debris and damage around the school campus. School and home routines were heavily affected for staff and children. I am requesting for various materials like stretchy bands, yoga stretching bands, foam rollers, and a Bosu DVD to help children destress throughout the school day.
Stretching can not only help a healthy lifestyle but can also help children stay focused in the classroom.
I would like to have various stretching aids available for children to take quick breaks during learning to help the unwind or find a new way to be comfy while doing classwork. These materials will also help children struggling with good behavior choices to help them relax and unwind. Being able to focus and concentrate are crucial in first grade. With important testing coming soon, it's essential to have these materials in the classroom to help my students be successful and get ready for 2nd grade.
