I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting my students because I am beginning a new adventure at a new school. However, I have heard great things from former teachers and administrators about the students coming into my classroom.
These children are excited and eager to learn.
They love to test the limits and explore new concepts and ideas. They are hard-working and determined to equip themselves with skills and knowledge as they discover who they are as individuals.
I can't wait to meet all of the wonderful students who walk through my doors! I want to create a safe and welcoming environment in which my students can learn and thrive. I also want to provide my students with a sense of community and countless opportunities to become independent and confident individuals with a lifelong passion for learning!
My Project
Starting out as a first-year teacher, I don't have a lot of supplies to bring to the classroom. I want to provide my students with the tools and manipulatives they will need to participate in lessons and be successful learners.
A key factor in creating a rigorous and engaging learning environment is maintaining classroom management.
One of the items I have selected is a doorbell. I have seen many experienced teachers used methods like this one, and have been very successful in doing so. The doorbell can be used to redirect the students' attention and notify students of class transitions. The doorbell has several tones to choose from and can be positioned anywhere in the classroom.
Another item I have selected is a set of dry erase boards that come with erasers and dry erase markers. These are perfect for small group or whole group use across all subject areas. These whiteboards give all students a chance to express their answers and work through problems without being put on the spot.
