Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my classroom involves my students immersed in reading and writing in all academic areas. I strive for my students to become problem solvers and independent in all academic areas.
My students are part of the Primary Years Program at an IB World magnet school.
I work very hard to teach my students to be lifelong global learners. Students learn through an inquiry based curriculum. They are extremely motivated and excited about learning. They love reading all kinds of genres and enjoy being part of a classroom community. We are also a Title I school with 80% of the students on free or reduced price lunch.
My Project
The students in my class will be able to use seat sacks to stay organized in our everyday class. Seat sacks help students to keep all of their belongings together without fidgeting inside a desk. They will use the book pouches for a home to school reading connection where parents can help their child in their learning. Students will also be able to use the book display shelves while reading to self during Daily 5 reading rotations.
My project will make a difference in my students' learning because it will keep them organized.
It will also keep materials from falling apart so fast and provide opportunities for the students to read material that is easily displayed to them.
