My Students

My kindergarten students come from very diverse backgrounds. They come to school eager to learn each day! They are very active and engaged learners. Many of my students take part in our backpack program which provides basic meals for them on the weekend. In our school, all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I take pride in making sure that our school is a place where they feel comfortable and safe. My students benefit from learning in an organized environment that feels like home. I recognize that each child learns in their own unique way. I create lessons that address their individual learning needs and provide a space where they feel comfortable and safe.

My Project

My kindergarten students enjoy read-to-self time every day! They are building fluency and comprehension skills. When my students have books that are at their independent level, their confidence shines and they blossom into active readers. It is important for children to develop a love of reading. When they have books that are just right for them, they want to read and ask for reading time. They get excited and realize that they are “readers!” These books will help them to grow their reading skills. They will become life long readers. I appreciate your support of my students, as they begin their reading journey!
