Help me give my students the materials to support them in their reading growth. Magnetic letters, writing journals, book rings for sight words, and book storage bins will all help my students jump in their reading levels!
I am greeted with warm hugs and smiles from 22 students every day! This is a bright and creative group of six and seven-year-olds. They are an energetic bunch with many talents to share. What a fun group to teach and learn with!
My students have so much potential and are excited to learn and try new things.
I often find myself learning from them. They have already grown so much from the beginning of the year and I can't wait to see them reach their end-of-year goals!
Most of the materials listed for this project will be used during guided reading, a time when I work in small groups with the students to teach them specific reading strategies to help them grow! During this time, the students practice reading and writing sight words, building words they found in the text, and writing about the story we read.
The magnetic letters will have a huge impact on our guided reading lessons.
Students will have their own set of letters to practice reading, building, and manipulating words. The writing journals will give students an opportunity to independently practice what they learned in our small group lesson. This will help to reinforce the reading strategy we learned in the lesson.
