Help me give my students books, books, books! These books will help my students get excited about reading by providing a wide array of titles. There is a little something for everyone in each of these sets!
As we enter a new school year, I am excited to meet my newest group of first graders! I imagine that we will be an energetic and fun group! As young students, we will learn best through hands on and novel experiences. As of right now, I have 23 students that are on my class roster which includes thirteen boys and ten girls.
Our school is STEM certified and we infuse science, technology, engineering, and math in all that we do!
At our school, learning is FUN, and we love to experience new ways to learn each and every day!
I believe in providing many different titles for my students in order for them to be successful readers! In first grade, students are really getting the foundation of reading, and learning what they like to read! By providing my students with an array of different titles and genres I feel that my students will become confident and successful readers.
Not only will these books create a love for reading in my students, but they will also build fluency in reading!
I plan to use the nonfiction texts in many different ways. I will use them in conjunction with an informational writing unit as well as throughout the year in many other ways! The Caldecott winners will give my students some really interesting and fun titles to read as well as listen to in shared reading! My students will truly love these books! I am excited to give them this opportunity!
