In Pre-K we learn through play. The students in my class come in every day excited and ready to learn new things! They are eager to play with their friends. They are eager to play with materials that are not available to them on a daily basis at home.
Seeing their faces glow when they see new things in the classroom makes my day.
Eighty percent of the students come from immigrant households. The majority of the students' parents do not speak English at home, which makes communication that much harder. We strive to make the home to school transition as fun as possible for them daily.
In pre-k the focus is the children! Everything in the classroom is theirs and for them! I would love to make things a little more personal for them. This die cut system will help to personalize a lot of materials with their names and special characters.
Most of my student live in multiple sibling homes, so they have to share everything!
This will give them things to call their own. The special machine with accessories and supplies will light up their smiles and fill their hearts with so much pride in their materials. I personally cannot wait for them to see and recognize their names all around the room.
