Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a rough part of San Diego but have great hearts and minds! Because of their life circumstances, the majority of them don't realize their amazing untapped potential, and I love to come to work every day to show them how amazing they really are!
I like to think of my students like M&Ms: hard on the outside but sweet on the inside.
I have seen such amazing growth with my students so far this year and would love to help them mature and evolve even more to become independent thinkers who will strive to make a positive difference in their communities and the world!
My Project
Thanks to Donor's Choose, this year I have successfully started a coding club at my school with Lego and drones! We are having so much fun learning to build and code with Lego, and this Lego set would allow me to give my students more educational, creative, and fun challenges to solve with our basic Lego set.
My students would be so excited to be able to use and improve the coding skills they have already acquired from our coding club this year to solve real life space exploration challenges with these Legos!
