I am a third-grade reading teacher at a low-income, Title 1 school in Port Arthur, Texas. My students face many challenges. Many of my students are living in poverty. Hurricane Harvey has made those challenges more difficult for my students and their families.
Despite the obstacles that Hurricane Harvey has brought my school community, my students show up every day ready to learn.
They are eager and excited to come to school and learn new things. I want my classroom to be a safe and engaging environment for my students.
My Project
My students love to play games. Reading games are a great way to keep students engaged while providing supplemental resources to enhance a newly learned skill. My students love to get on the floor and participate in group activities with their classmates.
Reading comprehension games will provide my students with additional support after instruction and opportunities to collaborate with peers, analyze information, and learn content all while having fun!
These reading comprehension games cover a wide variety of skills that must be mastered in the third grade.
My students will enjoy reading and learning while playing these colorful, engaging, and content-based comprehension games.
