My Students

My elementary school is in a rural community in Southern Indiana. We are a Title I school where 63% of our population is made up of low-income families and students living in poverty. My third graders are the perfect age! They are eager to learn and old enough to be able to take on some responsibility with class projects.

I love getting a new class roster each August and seeing the names of siblings that I have had in the past!

My students and I look forward to the sense of community that our school provides.

My Project

Keeping an organized classroom is more important than a person might think. With dozens of people sharing one classroom, it is essential to have an organized space as well as organized and routine procedures. My classroom is in need of mailboxes that will help keep students papers, and other important documents, safe and organized.

Our current mailboxes are made of cardboard and are not in good shape. The wooden mailboxes I am seeking could last for decades and serve hundreds of students! This is a basic need that nearly all elementary classrooms need, but it is more costly than I am allotted for supplies for a whole year.
