My students are creative, and thoughtful! They absolutely love our PBL, hands-on, active, engaging projects and the opportunity to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Our classroom is organized in tables to facilitate cooperative learning and hands-on engagement, but that presents a struggle for keeping materials organized.
Many students in my classroom come in with low organization skills and need opportunities to practice managing their materials.
Our school is nestled in central Wyoming, and is a melting pot of smaller schools that have closed. Our families often struggle to make ends meet.
Each child in my classroom loves learning and brings a unique set of skills and talents to our classroom. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met and facilitate collaboration and cooperation! They are an awesome group , and I am so lucky and thankful to have a group of engineers, mathematicians, readers and authors to work with each day!
My Project
This project will help keep our classroom organized. Seat sacks will hang on each student's chair to help us keep personal materials organized while not compromising space for collaboration and cooperation. Students will be able to access their folders, notebooks, etc. without having to leave the learning environment. Table organizers will provide some options for keeping our collective tools organized and accessible during projects. The stool will provide an opportunity for flexible work space and seating options! Students can stand, sit, and move around as needed!
All of these tools will keep our materials accessible, without compromising the space for hands-on, collaborative learning.
