Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Beloved children's author, Dr. Seuss said, "The more that you read the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!"

I have a super enthusiastic group of 2nd graders who love to learn!

My class is comprised of 15 ESL (English is a second language) learners. My students love reading and having stories read to them. They enjoy exploring all of the different worlds books have to offer. With all of the reading we do, the more places my kids will go!

My Project

Currently, I display our read aloud books on the chalkboard, but it gets very cluttered. My students love reading our monthly read alouds during independent reading time, but there is nowhere to nicely display them.

Having a bookshelf will not only help me keep the chalkboard clutter free, but it will showcase the books we are focusing on.

My students will also have easy access to reading these books.

As for the bench, we have a lot of books, but we are running out of storage space! This bench would not only serve as a seat for readers, but it would also declutter the classroom library.
