This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have 18 kindergarten students.
I teach at a wonderful school in Norfolk, Virginia.
Every student at my school receives free lunch. My school is very diverse, and last school year we became fully accredited! We are extremely proud of our accomplishments, and the staff and students are determined to continue to make growth in math and reading this year.
Administration, teachers, and students will be working extremely hard to ensure that we remain fully accredited by the end of the school year. Although my students are in kindergarten, they are just as passionate about learning as students in the upper grades. I want my students to continue to be passionate about learning, and my goal for this year is to build an environment where students can experience academic success.
My Project
Developing good organizational skills is a key ingredient for success in school and in life. I am requesting materials that will assist my students with keeping our classroom neat, clean and inviting. These materials will also teach students to be responsible and also organizational skills. Research suggest that children behavioral patterns and organizational skills are set at an early age. The best way to guarantee children will develop organizational habits is to be consistent with them from day to day. Modeling routines, how to put things in the correct place, organizing and sharing workspace will not only assist student in school but also in life.
