Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a fourth year teacher in Connecticut. As a high poverty school district, the potential to do great things is here, but the funding is not.
My twenty-four tenacious students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with ninety percent of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My students come from different backgrounds where English is not always their primary language. They are all eager to learn every day.
I am anxiously awaiting the first day of school and meeting all my new students for the upcoming year!
My Project
Hi All! After a long DonorsChoose break I am back with a new project for my classroom! School starts in just a few short weeks and we are in need of a couple new bookshelves to organize and store our new reading series. Unfortunately, over summer vacation one of our classroom bookshelves broke leaving all our new reading books on the floor. I would like to upgrade our shelves to these sturdy steel units so we don't have this problem ever again! Your donation goes towards the purchase of these brand new shelves. This would give my students easy access to all of their new reading materials.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Gannon and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
