After four and a half years of courses dedicated toward elementary education, it is finally my time to have my own classroom (How exciting?!)! I will be in a 2nd/3rd multi-age classroom with about 28 students. This particular school is year-round, so the new school year is quickly approaching (mid-July). Therefore, I want to prepare myself and the classroom right away.
I want to provide an engaging, fun, and creative space for my new students to grow!
Along with this idea, I want to create a classroom that not only promotes learning, but is a safe space for all students.
My Project
In my new classroom, there are 28 students that will need to put away their items. In my building we use tables, that have zero storage organization. My students will need a space to put away notebooks, folders, and reading materials.
We not only teach students academic standards, but life skills like organization.
The book bins I have selected will not only help my first year class, but many years to come. The bins have a clear label holder on the front that students can decorate and interchange. This allows students to be creative, and make their own connections to learning. The students will know where their materials are stored, and each will have their own book bin. Thank you for looking at this project!
