This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a urban school district. The school I teach at is a title 1 school. Most of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
The students live in homes that lack essensial supplies and resources to explore the world outside of their neighborhoods.
Many of these students lack learning about prior experiences from being unable to have these rich experiences. Due to these prior experiences at home and lack of resources, many of these students come to school unsuccessful.
My Project
My children are preschool ages three years old to five years old with a variety of disabilities. My classroom is in a school in a urban setting. Several of my children have deficits with their fine motor skills. Many of my students come from areas where they do not have the resources at home to develop their fine motor skills.
Your donations to this project will help my babies know exactly where the art materials home is when they want to create a picture with paint, markers, or crayons.
With the storage cabinet my students will have the art materials needed to increase their fine motor skills in order to develop skills to being writing.
