My Students

Being in the Education field for seventeen years as a teacher, I come across many types of students. When I say types, I am talking about different learning abilities, learning styles, and of course personas. I always have a great rapport with my students. I allow them to express themselves verbally and through their work in the classroom.

Teaching the students I have, not the ones I want to have has always been an important component to my relationship with my students.

They are funny, intelligent, outgoing, shy, some need more assistance than others and that is okay. My students are willing and able to pair/share their work with their classmates. They are not afraid to take constructive criticism from other classsmates and this makes my classroom friendly, positive, and an open learning environment. The students are not afraid to ask each other questions or to critique their writing. I love that my students are comfortable in my learning environment.

My Project

All students need to know the basics of organizing their own work along with their own data. To organize a binder in the beginning of the year they are setting standards that they need to meet. They are preparing for high school and College.

Being organized with the use of binders and tabs is a key component for success so students are able to analyze their own data and work.

When my students move on from my class, I want them to have learned that being able to organize and set goals is one way to succeed. Chaos has never done anyone any good at being successful. Organization and taking responsibilty for their own data helps them fulfill their goals in my class and in their future.
