My students need bins to keep their school supplies organized. Each day the children will choose a Comfy Floor Seat or another place to sit taking all their books and supplies with them.
My hard-working, creative, active students are moving from second grade to third grade with me. I teach in a low-income Title I school in Cadillac, Michigan with students who have lots of energy but love to learn. My students need alternative seating options so they can move while they focus their learning.
I am so excited to have another year with this group to watch them grow and learn as third graders.
I want to give my students a new look to our same classroom where they can stand, wiggle, wobble or be traditional. When they arrive at the Open House, they'll feel like it's a whole new exciting year with a new look and new seating choices in my classroom. I have already purchased four stools, a couch and have lowered tables to start the classroom atmosphere change.
My Project
My goal with flexible seating is to create an environment where my students make choices. The third graders can choose the Comfy Floor seats or use the Durable Throw Pillows to sit on the floor by a lowered table.
The students' supplies will be organized in a Connect and Store book bin.
Each child will make a decision on which location is best for him or herself each day. I want students to have the choice of a comfy pillow for reading when it's independent reading time. It'll be a great new year with some alternative seating in my classroom.
