Our medically fragile special education class has students with autism, are severely handicapped or intellectual delayed, have multiple disabilities, have speech language disabilities and other health impairments. Since there is a range in grade levels, kindergarten to fifth grade, and abilities, we have created shoe box tasks individualized for each student. Having these individualized shoe box tasks helps students to build their fine motor and academic skills while making it fun and positive and helping to build structure and strict routines for our students learners.
My Project
I would like to ask for these items so that I can provide individualized organization for my medically fragile and severely handicapped students. Each student will have their own cart with their shoe box tasks and we can rotate the tasks as needed.
My medically fragile and severely handicapped students need lots of structure and organization.
By providing these carts and boxes, we will be able to create more individualized tasks according to each student's needs. Whether it is fine motor skills or even life skills, I believe that all students are able to learn if they are given different opportunities.
