My students are enthusiastic and hands-on learners. They thrive in an environment where they get to, "Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"- Ms. Frizzle, The Magic School Bus. I'm an upper elementary teacher at a school that is in a rural, impoverished area. The school often serves as the main source of access to academic materials, experiences, and foundational school items. Many students do not have access to necessary school items at home and rely on the school and teachers to provide high-quality experiences and fully stocked classrooms with all items a student could need for school.
These students are genuinely excited to be at school in an atmosphere full of hope and opportunity.
They come ready to participate and buzzing about what they will get to learn and experience each day.
All of our students love being active. We have a huge grassy field for the kids to utilize for PE time. Having this equipment will allow us to enrich PE time with more options for the kids to choose from to get moving. This variety allows us to teach our students more about physical movement and how to stay healthy! Not to mention it allows us to build foundational skills of teamwork and an ability to win gracefully.
The PE equipment will serve many roles in teaching the kids foundational physical education skills and attitudes!
