My students need it all: the drying rack, paper cutter, and storage cart are essential to the efficient and effective functioning of an art room, making sure students spend more time making art as opposed to finding materials.
My students are individuals with more things on their minds than minutes in the day. They come from a grand mix of backgrounds, families, and situations. Entering our classroom every morning is a swarm of energy, carrying with them their wants and desires, and their need for a thorough and well-rounded education.
They put their best foot forward on their creative endeavors and strive to get the maximum out of their time in my class.
The range of needs in a classroom often go beyond the knowledge aspect and well into the need for community, hospitality, friendship, and love.

My Project
Am I excited! I have the amazing opportunity to start a brand new art program in the awesome new Honors Academy. Starting this program from scratch is going to take some hard work, but I am ready.
These essential art room items will help my student manage the space, utilize it efficiently, and keep tools, supplies, and artwork just a quick grab away.
The drying rack will allow my students to organize their in-progress artwork. The paper cutter is an essential piece of equipment for any art room and will allow my students to get the supplies they need in the sizes they need. The rolling drawers will house the basic drawing supplies and allow my students to have fast and easy access to the basic tools of creativity. By having these materials funded before my supply order is due, I can allocate more direct funding to putting artmaking material in my students' hands. The creative process can be challenging enough sometimes; having the right tools for the job makes everything smoother.
