On a typical day in my classroom, my students are working individually and corporately to create, innovate, and learn. Just imagine what it would be like if you could share that creativity, innovative spirit, and desire to learn with the entire class, at one time! A Smartboard can make that happen!
My students are bright, creative, and hardworking.
They love a challenge and they love to share their work with their classmates and dream great things. Our school is moving forward in a technology base world-grades 4 through 6 have Chromebooks, and my students are embracing the technology everyday. They have so many creative ideas-they want to create movies, newscasts, web-based projects, and more. I want to be able to utilize project-based learning much more than I do now.
My Project
My students have Chromebooks, and they want to create movies, games, newscasts, and more. They would really love to be able to interact on a larger scale. They desire to share their projects on a big screen and interact with each other's work. They want to be hands-on with their projects, and they want me to be a more hands-on teacher. Using a SMART board will enable me to create more engaging content that they can interact with, rather than sit and listen to me "teach". A SMART board will help them to take ownership of their learning and keep them engaged with each lesson. I envision them creating a project on their Chromebooks, sharing it with their classmates, and then using the SMART board to interact with it. I envision my students being able to play educational hands-on games with them to introduce material or help review for tests. I'm looking forward to finding creative ways to engage my students and help them learn and grow.

Their school experience is already changing as technology changes, and I feel it is important to keep up with that technology. They'll benefit from being able to see and interact with each other's work, and collaborate on projects together-this prepares them for the real world. Also, being able to manipulate information and participate in a hands-on experience will engage all learners. This could be a game changer!
