My Students

Our students are eager to learn! They come to school wanting to learn and ask lots of questions. Our students are always looking for ways to share with others the projects we are doing in our classroom. Our school is a magnet school in a large, urban school district. The school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. As an IB program, we focus on global themes that students can relate to and want to know more about.

At our school, we encourage inquiry and questioning of how things work and why.

We focus on hands-on inquiry. We believe in the power of choice and having lots of options to help us learn.

My Project

Students have an opportunity to participate in a wonderful science activity - hatching chicks in the classroom. Purdue University will provide the fertilized eggs and we have a farmer willing to take the hatched chicks.

Our students learn about the life cycle of chickens and caring for an animal.

We need incubators to complete this project. The Mini Advance Incubator has a clear dome which allows students to see the eggs easily. The incubator is easy to use and turns the eggs for us.
