My Students

My 5th graders are constantly moving and becoming more independent as learners. They are turning into middle schoolers, ready to socialize and lean on their classmates more and more. My students have a wide range of needs based on their classifications of Gifted and Talented, ESOL, and special education.

In order to reach every child, my classroom is constantly changing...small groups for reading, guided math, science experiments.

We are going 1:1 this year with chrome books, and it is time to make my classroom more conducive to all of the things we are trying to do.

My Project

I am hoping to complete my set of Kore Wobble Chairs and cushion disks to provide a variety of seating options in my classroom. Through my own experience and research, I know that students of all learning styles will benefit from having choice in the classroom. We all have places we like to sit or stand as we work and study.

Students need the opportunity to make choices about where they sit and discover what best suits their learning style.

It is my goal to help my fifth graders start to become independent learners who can make good educational choices for themselves.
