My students are excited to be in 3rd grade. This year, I have an academically diverse group of students. Although it can be challenging at times, I find as a whole, they have more similarities than differences. It is so rewarding to watch my students interact with one another during lessons. They cooperatively work together and find ways to acknowledge each other's accomplishments.
Our school is classified as high poverty; however, we celebrate the fact that we are one of the most diverse districts in the nation.
Students and staff have worked diligently to make this school a wonderful place to teach and learn. The PTA runs and provides after-school enrichment programs, while teachers and other staff members run a variety of athletic programs. It is truly a special place to work!
My Project
My students are learning skills that will make them life-long learners. As a teacher, it is my duty to make sure that all students have the opportunity to succeed. By offering students more types of flexible seating in my classroom, I will be meeting the needs of students who need to move to stay focused.
Students will be excited to use new kinds of flexible seats.
I know that children enjoy change. Allowing students to change seating styles will keep them motivated to learn. They will have the opportunity to use the stools, wobble seats, and bouncy band chairs many times throughout each week. With the addition of these nine seats, every student will have a chance to sit in something other than a boring chair. It is my hope that students will enjoy learning even more with these flexible seat choices.
