Help me give my students a subscription to Fluency and Fitness to help keep them fit and healthy, Clorox disinfecting wipes and tonor to print our fitness center board games.
My students and I are part of a wonderful Title I school where more than three‑quarters of students come from low‑income households. Our students come from very diverse socioeconomic households which include everything from "traditional" family units to foster family homes to those who struggle with homelessness. We, the teachers, always make sure each and every student, no matter what their situation, has everything they need. We are a very diverse school with many different backgrounds in one. Many students come in not speaking any English and some parents require translators to communicate. Our goal here is to meet the needs of our students. As for my children, some have disabilities varying from physical and cognitive delays to children receive an array of services.
They enter eager and unsure of what to expect, but greet me with a huge smile each day.
That smile alone can make any day a good one! Each day is incredibly inspiring as we learn and grow together. I love what I do and look forward to providing them with daily opportunities to succeed! They may be my students, but they are our future!
My Project
This year I want to introduce my children to Fluency and Fitness.com. Fluency and Fit has a wonderful update which has brought along so many new and improved benefits. Now my children will be able to have a year long subscription to fitness and fun.
I want to provide my children with the opportunity to not only be physically active today, but the opportunity to teach skills and basic well-being conducive to maintaining physical activity for a lifetime.
Fluency and Fitness will help my children review essential reading and math facts with the click of a mouse. After selecting a subject, they will have access to over 350 videos within various subtopics and options of viewing slides with a 3 or 6 second pause. In addition, these sides include a fitness component a HUGE plus. After a few slides of facts a fitness slide pops up with background music and an animated character modeling the exercise. HOW AWESOME IS THAT? Children are sure to love this as they do the floss and basic exercises like toe touches and windmills. These animated characters are my favorite because they help model the exercises the children will be doing.
In addition to this wonderful fitness subscription I am asking for cleaning wipes because germs are a constant battle. We need these wipes to ensure that we stay germ-free and our class stays clean! We also need toner to be able to print our fitness board games and awards for completing various Fluency and Fitness challenges.
