My Project

For our grand challenge in 8th grade Research is to have the students develop sustainable futuristic cities. We are utilizing the 3D printer to create wind turbines and other renewable energy sources, such as a hydroelectric water mill. The students will be measuring the energy output through the multimeter and use that information to determine the energy source that is most cost efficient. We focus on many aspects of infrastructure and energy sources and their efficiencies are one of our main focuses as power sources are essential to all cities. Our 3D printer accepts filament from the company xyz printing, to allow the printer to use other filaments xyz printing makes a universal chip, this chip will expand the different types of filaments to use in class.

We use the 3D printer to create a variety of objects.

Most recently we have created prototypes of different dams to show how they become reservoirs for the communities surrounding. Our current unit is covering energy sources, using the motors and 3D prints of turbines we can create wind turbines and hydropower turbines for energy efficiency.
