My Students

The students in my class and at my school are full of curiosity, drive, and enthusiasm. They work very hard to achieve success in everything they do. Each student makes their mark in their own creative ways. My classroom supports a diverse population, including students with a variety of learning needs. These include students who are academically gifted, ELL (English language learners), and working with ADHD.

Students enjoy learning about the various cultures that make up our student body.

They show appreciation and respect for each other every day. This is very important because students in my class and at my school come from different cultures, religions, and economic statuses.

My Project

This project includes items that will help students better understand the concept of money. In second grade, students begin to learn about money. The coins in this project will allow students to have their own bag of money to explore with. They will not have to worry about waiting for another classmate to be finished. Having enough coins to teach with is a necessity in second grade. The pencil sharper will help to keep students pencils sharp and ready to record any answers during their financial literacy lesson.

Money in the books!

Math has a very hands-on learning approach. That is why having enough manipulatives for students to use is important. Also, having books that represent what students will learn can help them make that connection. Students will be able to read books from this project to help them with counting coins or learning more about money. With all these materials, we will need a place to store it. The cart in this project will help give us a space for the materials.
