My students have done a most amazing job transitioning into distance learning. However, some have struggled emotionally and socially.
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids.
They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.
Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online. Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.
When Mayor DeBlasio announced that schools would be closed for the remainder of the year, many of my students' hearts were broken.
As seniors in the school, they lost all of senior activities, and contact with their friends.
My Project
Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in New York. My student needs a variety of books to read, math games, reading comprehension, that they will be able to have access to when they have a new chrome book. Having these chrome books and styluses will help remote learning come easy and seamless! Please help my students with providing them technology needed to be successful during this very difficult time. It will make a child happy to be able to take part in their learning!
