My Students

I have begun my first year of teaching at a Title I school in Norfolk, VA. where every student at our school receives free breakfast and the majority receive free or reduced-price lunch. I teach a diverse group of learners who are not only diverse in their academic needs, but also in their cultures, socio-economic status, and more.

My class is full of polite, hardworking children whose worlds have been turned upside down thanks to COVID-19.

Being at "school" will be very different this year, but I want to provide them with as much normalcy as possible.

My Project

One of my favorite things about my early school years was working on art projects. Even as an adult, I love to craft. My goal is to use these supplies to help my students express themselves creatively and create projects that they love.

There is nothing more exciting to a kid then being given some art supplies and a little direction-- the possibilities are endless!

I know how much my students will love and appreciate these art supplies. I am already dreaming up all of the fun things we can create together once we are back in the classroom!
