My Students

My classroom consists of 23 students- each from varying backgrounds. Each child has a love for learning whether it’s Math, Writing, Reading, Science or Social Studies. In my classroom, I incorporate as many different learning styles as possible, from small group, whole group to individual practice.

My students know that I have high expectations for their learning and they continue to work hard each day!

I am so lucky to have such a great group of learners in my classroom on a daily basis!

My Project

I have been teaching first grade for over 12 years. In those years, I have used beach chairs and cushion chairs for flexible seating. The students enjoy this nontraditional seating for their learning. However, as we know, beach chairs do not last forever!

Students enjoy finding their own quiet place in the classroom to share stories.

In my classroom this year, we are learning to read through a reading workshop model! Students spend a great deal of their reading time in small groups or partnerships!

How fun would it be to see my students in new seating around the classroom?!
