My preschool room consists of 15 students (special education students and general education students) ages 3-5. They are at many different abilities levels and needs. My preschool students walk into our classroom every day full of energy. They can't wait to share their stories, thoughts, and feelings. They look around to see what has changed or has been added to our classroom. They look forward to all their new experiences.
My goal is to provide my students with the love of learning.
My goal is to do this by providing them with a safe, caring, happy, and fun classroom. They enjoy experiencing new things with their friends. I want be able to prepare them for a successful future.
My Project
My goal is to provide my students with as many open-ended materials as possible. Items like Magna-Tiles have an endless amount of possibilities. My students love building with the Magna-Tiles, but we don’t have enough to complete their creations.
My goal is to keep my students thinking!
Open-ended materials keep them thinking, creating, and problem solving all while learning. They learn colors, shapes, counting, sorting, teamwork, and many other skills as they are creating different masterpieces each day. They begin to become confident learners at an early age with open-ended materials of this type.
These materials will provide them another way of showing their knowledge and thinking beyond paper and pencil tasks. These will provide my students with another tool to be excited about, and look forward to each day.
