My Students

My students are in a wide range of ages and abilities. Every student is gifted but finding out what they are gifted in can be difficult. Being the school Media Specialist, I see and work with all the students in the building.

Our community is a small, rural area next to a large expanding county.

This can make it hard sometimes for our economically challenged students. My students are hard workers, but they need more to work with and they need inspiration.

My Project

For this project, I am asking for donations of paper folding activities. Origami and Quilling are very creative but take focus and fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are needed skills that are learned in early grades and reinforced in middle grades. This will also give students an outlet for their creativity.

I am wanting to add a paper folding activity to my makerspace.

I need supplies. Origami books and Quilling books and supplies will fill this need. With these supplies in my makerspace, students will be able to be creative yet to improve/reinforce fine motor skills and being able to follow word and picture instructions.
