My Students

Isn't listening to a great story so much fun? My students love listening to stories as well as use technology to watch stories animate as they read and hear them! However our listening center still uses old cassette tapes and has very few visuals!

My students are very inquisitive five and six year olds who have begun to embark on the journey of become readers and developing the love of literature.

They come from a diverse background and are very eager to explore new technologies. They are just learning to read, and I feel that having a resource such as the Kindle would help to create excitement for learning in my students that will last a lifetime.

My Project

Imagine being able to interact with books in a way that you were never able to before. With the new Kindle Fire, students in my kindergarten class will be able to explore a variety of picture and emergent reading books independently as they are becoming readers on their own. Because some of my students don't have access to technology at home, having a Kindle at school will help to enrich their lives and keep them on par with the newest trends in education.

In today's job markets, candidates are expected to be up on the latest technology to compete for success.

By heightening their exposure to technology as such a young and impressionable age, my students will have a head start towards having a successful school career, and beyond.
