This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My full-day kindergarten students in Las Vegas, Nevada are full of energy and excitement about learning! My students love the weekly and monthly themes that we explore in kindergarten. They love participating in literacy and math centers, singing songs, and learning to write.

More than three quarters of my students come from low-income households.

I know how important this critical year of education is to my students and their families. My goal is that each student leaves my classroom with a love of learning!

I love seeing how much my students can achieve throughout the year. Seeing them have their "a-ha" moments about learning will never get old!

My Project

I am always looking for new, engaging ways to help my students learn new things in my classroom. I love finding content-related, age-appropriate text that my students will enjoy. Specifically, I try to find new ways to incorporate nonfiction content into the curriculum.

Let's Find Out Magazine will be a fantastic addition to my literacy instruction.

With each weekly addition, my students will learn skills that will help them read and write as well as explore the world around them. Many of my students do not travel out of our city very often. This magazine will help them learn about people and places that they do not know about. This will be such an enriching piece of our literacy curriculum!
