My Students

The students at our school represent a culturally and economically diverse group. This year our Kindergarten classes include children speaking six different languages. Many of these students have recently relocated to the United States, and are being exposed to English for the first time. Nearly 50% of our students receive free or reduced cost lunch. We are a Title I school located in the suburbs of a major southern city.

Kindergarten students are excited to learn about the world.

They benefit from listening and reading about a variety of topics. This project will support five Kindergarten classrooms.

My Project

Scholastic Let's Find Out magazines help our students learn about a variety of topics targeted for Kindergarten students. Each week the magazine has a different focus to engage student learning. The subscription also includes digital resources including listening to the material, a vocabulary game, and a related video. The children benefit from be exposed to the topics in a multiple ways. There is a page for the students to complete which aligns with our learning.

Each child will receive a copy of the Let's Find Out magazine.

These magazines are used to reinforce reading and writing skills that are being learned, as well as learning about the world.
