Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our district educates approximately 250 residential and day students in kindergarten through grade 12 who have emotional, behavioral, and learning problems. Most students reside here and live in cottages with an array of different staff members supporting them.
The computer lab is open to students in grades K-12.
Our classroom is designed to attract all ages and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere of happiness to it when you enter. We try to keep a peaceful environment. Lessons are tailored to each student's ability and most often one-on-one instruction is necessary.
My Project
I want my students to be able to explore new technology this September. I would like them to get a feel of the GoPro and take videos and learn how to edit and view their very own videos.
My students live on a very nice park-like campus that makes the best background scenery for filming.
The students will share this GoPro and take footage of campus. We will then learn how to edit the footage and create commercials and videos using the technology and programs learned in class. Students will gain hands-on experience and learn from each other as they experiment with the new technology brought inside the classroom.
