Help me give my students the thrill of electrical engineering. I am seeking materials to help my students explore the STEM career of electrical engineering.
My students are eager learners who need hands-on experiences to master abstract concepts. Inquiry is the standard in our class. Making mistakes and problem-solving are key elements to the day.
Hands-on learning is exciting for children.
Developing an understanding of the world through questioning will make my students problem solvers in the future. Poverty should not prevent inquiring minds from experiencing science and math the way it is meant to be experienced; hands-on! Give the gift of experience and inquiry.
My Project
I am seeking materials to incorporate into my class STEM challenges, focusing on electricity. I would like to incorporate an electrical engineering challenge using batteries, copper wire, alligator clips. This will provide an authentic way to explore electricity using circuits; open, closed and parallel.
My students love hands-on exploration activities where they can discover the "why" behind the science.
Students learn best by discovery, this is not a new development. Simple materials can go a long way to make connections to the real world around them and to spark a lifelong interest in a science career path. Think back on the moments that ignited the spark you know have for your career, where did that passion come from?
