Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In a city known for its challenges, my primary goal is to provide my students with a safe and rigorous environment where they can take the many skills taught in the classroom to a successful future ahead.
I teach a group of 34 fourth-grade students with a combination of various special needs students mainstreamed within.
My students are a very energetic, inquisitive, and highly motivated group. They absolutely love to learn new information in a tactile and hands-on way.
One thing that sets my group of students apart is their motivation and drive to make this world a better place. They strive for change and to make a positive impact on society. At such a young age, they are already able to describe how their future actions will affect those around them. With such a positive outlook on their future, it is my duty to provide my students with enriching activities that will make them productive future scholars in society.
Through the help of DonorsChoose.org, I hope to be able to provide more learning opportunities for my students through the use of materials that are not easily accessible in public education.
My Project
My students are in need of various animal books in order to teach them about animal compassion! Through this project, my students will be able to receive various books that will help them research new animals for our Ecosystem Unit.
During our Ecosystem Unit, my students will read these books, become knowledgeable about different animals, learn about their ecosystem, and discuss how these animals need to be cared for or protected in their ecosystem or habitat!
My students currently have to use the internet in order to study animals during our Ecosystem Unit, but through this project my students will be able to see beautiful National Geographic Books and get a hands on learning experience!
My students absolutely adore animals! They constantly talk about their pets and the various knowledge of differing animals. These books will be able to provide them more knowledge and compassion to our world's beautiful creatures!
The books funded through this project include National Geographic Books about animals such as Penguins, Bears, Whales, and Birds. These books are going to bring so much more adoration, appreciation, and compassion towards animals! Its a win-win!
